“The heart is in the home. Great design can positively impact everyone who enters a building. As your architect and designer, my role is to guide you through this creative journey with ease, grace, and, most importantly, fun.” ~ Jane Snyder

Working with Jane is an interactive and collaborative experience. She is committed to guiding her clients through the architectural and design journey, making it fun and interactive. Using all her senses, Jane elevates design ideas that are even better than her clients can imagine. Clients often say that she and the Mosaic Architects & Interiors team go beyond satisfying a project's functional and aesthetic goals, creating spaces that feel good.

When starting a project, Jane frequently visits a client's site to experience the landscape and interiors at varying times of the day. As a result, her designs take full advantage of views, natural light, and geographic features. Jane also visits with her clients and asks many questions, learning what elements and feelings are important to them. Then she presents a variety of materials to see which ones resonate with the Owners. Through this holistic and sensory approach, Jane then weaves the elements of architecture, interiors, lighting, structure, mechanical, and practical together. Jane shares, “Buildings are as complex as they are beautiful. They need to respond to the site, function well internally, perform over time, stay dry, breathe, be durable. All of these areas are the responsibility of the design team.”

Sustainability and resiliency have been part of Jane's designs for over 30 years. First known as green architecture, Jane is at the forefront of designing net-positive and passive homes. Before recommending any materials, she asks these questions. What is it made of? Is it healthy to touch and breathe? How durable is it? What opportunities for renewable energy does the site present? What challenges need to be overcome? She also incorporates pre-fabricated building components in projects to improve insulation, quality and reduce construction time-lines. “We work side-by-side with energy engineers to integrate the most efficient building systems for each project,” Jane explains.

To help clients experience the design and visualize their choices before the building process even starts, Jane leverages 3D technology and VR (virtual reality). Through this immersive and interactive process, clients fully understand the scale and relationship of the spaces. Clients walk through the virtual building, experience the indoor/outdoor connection and can test out various materials. This results in the clients actively participating in the design process and fewer changes during construction.
