A historic Cow Hollow home thoughtfully restored with contemporary details, featuring a new view room, urban roof terrace, and seamlessly connected, modern interiors. Baker Street Located on a steep street in the Cow Hollow Neighborhood of San Francisco, this historic home was not only meticulously restored and repaired, but also brought into the 21st Century with contemporary and transitional details. 00-Cover.jpg 01.jpg 11.webp 00-Cover.jpg 1/12 The added curved dormer facing the Golden Gate Bridge was inspired by the dome of the Palace of Fine Arts which is within walking distance of the residence… and allowed for tall ceilings in the attic which was converted into a View Room with indoor-outdoor decks, cozy fireplace, and gorgeous views in all directions. The remaining roof was reimagined as an urban roof terrace with plantings, fire-table, water feature and lounge seating. While almost all of the interior was gutted and rebuilt to current code and standards, the character of the home remained intact, opening up rooms to each other. Now areas and levels flow seamlessly and softly, creating comfortable spaces to lounge and relax. As an anchor to the home, we design a unique bronze fireplace cage in the Living Room inspired by the HOSHINOYA Tokyo Hotel, where our clients like to stay. Contractor: Saturn Construction
